This past week, I had the opportunity to participate in two wonderful workshops! The first was on Monday with our own Mr. Larry Hewett. He is what many would consider our on-site technology guru. In addition to needing technology CEUs, I also need to do a better job with utilizing technology with my students. After all, it has been quite a while since overhead projectors were considered technology! At any rate, the first session was very informative, and I cannot wait to see what remains to be learned in the following sessions!
The second workshop that I participated in was on Wednesday with Melba Johnson. Our focus was on strategies to raise student achievement in English I, the PSAT, the SAT, and the ACT. This was like a breath of fresh air! I have been stuck in a rut, doing the same old, same old. I was glad to see some strategies that I could use to engage students and make them (gasp) THINK! Our next meeting will be held on October 14.
